According to a recent report by CBRE, 17% of US retail sales come from restaurants.
In 2019, over 40 restaurant transactions occurred in the Boise MSA – approximately 25% of all retail transaction. Third-party delivery services, such as Grubhub and DoorDash, are gaining significant traction leading to some delivery-only restaurants called "ghost kitchens." These businesses are leasing industrial and less desirable retail spaces for lower rents.
A recent BoiseDev article mentioned that Crave Delivery (which operates a "ghost kitchen" business model), will be coming soon to Ten Mile Crossing, occupying approximately 15,000 SF for their kitchen and delivery operation.
