Residential development activity moderated through April 2026 but remained relatively stable despite ongoing affordability challenges. Single-family permit volume decreased 5 percent compared to April 2025, while total permit value declined just 2 percent year over year, indicating builders continue to invest in new residential development.
Activity remained concentrated within Ada County, which accounted for approximately 70 percent of all single-family permits issued through April.

TOTAL PERMIT VALUE remained STEADY decreasing only 2% compared to April 2025.
