MULTIFAMILY PERMITS & VALUES
Multifamily development activity continued to moderate through July, with both permitted units and permit value declining from the prior year. The region recorded 694 permitted multifamily units, down from 984 units in July 2025, reflecting a more measured pace of new development. Meridian remained the primary center of multifamily activity with 280 permitted units, followed by Caldwell with 200. Permit value also declined nearly 32 percent year over year, totaling $98 million through July. The combination of fewer permitted units and lower investment value indicates developers remain selective as the multifamily market moves through a period of continued adjustment.
