Commercial development activity through April 2026 continued to trend toward larger, more capital-intensive projects despite lower permit volume.
Ada County remained the region’s primary center for commercial construction, accounting for just over 80 percent of total permit value and more than 71 percent of all permits issued year to date. Boise represented 49 percent of all commercial permits, while Meridian and Nampa followed as the next most active markets.
PERMIT VALUE INCREASED by nearly 73% year over year.
TOTAL number of PERMITS DECLINED by NEARLY 30% compared to April 2025.
