Asking lease rates also adjusted downward, falling 10 percent year over year to $16.15 per square foot (NNN, annual). Lower rents provided an opportunity for tenants to relocate into more desirable or appropriately sized space, with relocations accounting for 46 percent of deals. Smaller suites continued to account for the majority of activity, with 64 percent of transactions over the last 12 months involving spaces under 3,000 square feet.
