The region’s economic and demographic fundamentals should support a healthy investment outlook. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Boise MSA nonfarm employment increased from approximately 346,500 jobs in June 2019 to 420,100 in June 2026, a net gain of 73,600 jobs, or 21.2 percent. Nearly all industries added jobs between 2019 and 2025, led by trade, transportation and utilities; education and health services; construction; and professional and business services. Together, these sectors accounted for 75 percent of net job growth. Construction recorded the largest percentage increase at 45 percent, while trade, transportation and utilities and education and health services added the most jobs.

Boise’s 2025 job and population growth reached 2.0% and 2.2%, respectively, compared with just 0.5% nationally.
